The Truly Healthy Vegetarian Cookbook to review.
I usually prefer vegan cookbooks because they're dairy free and I'm allergic to milk (not lactose intolerant, actually allergic) but I've gotten pretty good at figuring out which milk substitutes to use for which recipes, so this cookbook will do just fine. I don't like meat, I never have but as a kid I didn't know that there was a choice when it came to eating meat. So, when I first read about vegetarian diets I was happy to learn I could live without meat. The problem was, I lived in a small town and had a hard time finding healthy options. I didn't know what I could eat to provide me the nutrition I needed, so I ended up missing out on some nutrients for a while. I eventually learned the ins and outs of healthy veg diets, but a book like this would have been a great help to me in the early days of my switch to vegetarian (and then vegan). This book has quite a few healthy options that are also quite tasty. It's a good book for vegetarians who are just starting out as well as those interested in adding more meat-free meals to their diet. This book not only has a lot of good recipes in it, it also has a lot of good information on vegetarian diets in general. It's a great choice for anyone interested in a more planned based diet.
