Singapore Under Attack

I received a free ebook copy of Singapore Under Attack to review.

Full disclosure: I don't read a lot of novels, I prefer my books to be of the non-fiction variety, but I do enjoy the ocassional thriller. But to call this book a thriller is a stretch. It seemed to me more like the author was trying to show off how many different technology concepts he knew about. Most of the book is just pointless, plotless filler. The first chapter is okay, but it fails at the most important task of a first chapter: draw in the reader. After the first chapter I was bored of this book, but you can't review what you haven't read, so I kept reading. The second chapter was nothing but filler. It served no purpose and the plot of the book wouldn't have been impacted in any way by simply deleting the entire thing. I also feel the need to point out that the author frequently mentioned the drink being served in "china cups" which I found weird and honestly quite annoying. Why do we care what type of glass they were using? It's just more meaningless filler. There's no point in the book that I felt drawn in, conected to the characters, or compelled in anyway to continue reading. I barely managed to finish this book, and the end didn't change my opinion of the book at all. It was boring and anti-climactic.
