I recieved a free copy of the ebook Kaddish to My Parents and Other Poems to review.
This is a book of poems written by Ruth Netzer that have been translated to English. Translating poetry can be a difficult task because some words don't translate well and/or don't hold their meaning when translated, but the translators of these poems did a nice job. The book isn't perfect, but for the most part, the poems do have a nice flow and rhythm to them even after translation. These aren't the elementary school style of poetry many people are used to (ie; rhyming every other line and haikus) so some people may not like them because they aren't used to this style of poetry. I like the poems in this book and the style of poetry the author used. I would like to read the untranslated poems to see if they maintained the original flow and meaning, but based on having only read the translations I do like the poems. I would like to see more poetry from this author in the future and am very interested in reading her other book
