I received a free copy of Lullabylooza 2: More '90s Alternative Goes Lullaby to review.
So, as the album title implies, this is a collection of nineties alternative rock songs in instrumental lullaby versions. As a fan of nineties alternative myself, I believe that is important to introduce my kids to the kind of music I enjoy. This collection includes ten tracks:
1. Disarm (Lullaby Rendition of Smashing Pumpkins)
2. Say It Ain’t So (Lullaby Rendition of Weezer)
3. Got You Where I Want You (Lullaby Rendition of The Flys)
4. Bitter Sweet Symphony (Lullaby Rendition of The Verve)
5. Dropping Anchor (Lullaby Rendition of Jimmie’s Chicken Shack)
6. Heaven Beside You (Lullaby Rendition of Alice In Chains)
7. Midlife Crisis (Lullaby Rendition of Faith No More)
8. What It’s Like (Lullaby Rendition of Everlast)
9. Fade Into You (Lullaby Rendition of Mazzy Star)
10. Don’t Speak (Lullaby Rendition of No Doubt)
There are songs her that I like, like Heaven Beside You, and songs that I'm not as fond of, like Don't Speak.
I find myself singing the lyrics as the songs play which sort of defeats the purpose of instrumental versions, but I can't help it. Nothing like instrumental versions of your favorite childhoos music to play for your kids. I recommend this collection to all parents who are ninteies grunge fans.
