The Ajazz Cyborg Soldier is a great keyboard at a great price

I got myself a new Ajazz Cyborg Soldier for the gaming rig I'm planning to build soon.

A good gaming keyboard is an important component for any gaming PC build, but that doesn't mean you want to spend an arm and a leg to get one. Hell, the PC itself is expensive, so it's always nice to find a few build points to save a little money. Keyboards are a good place to cut back a little without compromising functionality, and the Ajazz Cyborg Soldier is a good choice for gamers on a budget.


I like video games, they're one of my favorite hobbies. I also like building my own gaming computers, and part of the building process is choosing peripherals. I like backlighting on my keyboards, it makes night gaming and typing easier. I've been planning to build a new gaming rig so when I was given the chance to test a gaming keyboard I had to take it. I like this keyboard, it is quite well designed and reasonably priced.

Backlit for night/low light use
I like to game at night sometimes without turning the lights on because I don't want to wake anyone. Because we all know that if you wake others while gaming they sometimes interfere with your gaming fun.

Reasonable price
A lot of gaming keyboards are quite expensive, but this one is priced okay for the quality. It would not work for professional gamers, as there aren't any macro keys. But for the home gamer it is a good option.

Sea Turtle Charm Bracelet

I got this adorable little turtle blracelet from a website called Two Drops of Love. They have a variety of nice clothes, jewelry, and accessorries but this trutle is my favorite. You can see it at https://twodropsoflove.com/products/sea-turtle-charm-bracelets

I'm not much of a jewelry person, honestly, but I love turtles and this little turtle bracelet is just so stinking adorable! The bracelet is very simple, just a little metal turtle charm on a thin string. It came on a little cardboard plaque which says:

"Put on this jewelry
and make a wish.
When the chain has worn through,
legend says your wish
will come true"
So it has a cute little purpose to it, though I would truly hate for the string to wear through because I might lose the little turtle. I really love this little turtle charm. I'm enjoying the little bracelet, though I don't wear it most of the time because I fear losing my turtle. I think these bracelets would make great gifts for anyone who like turtles or bracelets. I do think it would be great if they added other charms, though, as not everyone is a fan of turtles (some people are just wrong, you know?)

We have one light in our bathroom that's always on. We keep it on all the time so that we can see where we're going at night when we have to pee. It's really annoying to have a light on all night, so I thought maybe this toilet light would be a good alternative.

This light was actually much brighter than I expected it to be. I was impressed by the amount of light provided, though I'm annoyed by how the light turns on in relatively bright conditions.

Bright light
As I stated before, the light is quite bright, more than capable of lighting up a significant area in the dark. It is definately able to light up enough area to guide you to the toilet safely.

Fits most toilets
The bar to attach the light to the edge of a toilet bowl is flexible which means it can be adjusted to fit most toilets. It would not fit all toilets, but most toilets in homes would be an easy fit.

All in all, the RainBowl is a pretty effective night light to guide you to your toilet in the darkness, but it does seem to overreact to shadows and low lighting. Even with our bathroom light on the RainBowl sometimes lights up.

King Matt the First

King Matt the First is a children's book by author Janusz Korczak and translated by Itzchak Belfer. The story is about a young boy who becomes king and is bored with his kingly responsibilities. Young King Matt tries to overcome his royal boredom by playing with regular kids and sneaking out of the palace. The story is cute and well written, perfect for young children. The book is a cute story about children finding and having independence and responsibilities. It's a really cute story with a good lesson, a great read for kids and adults. So far, every book I've read by Janusz Korczak is great. I would recommend this book and its author to anyone looking for a good book for their child.

The Dog Gang Collection

I received a free copy of the ebook The Dog Gang Collection to review.

The Dog Gang collection contains four separate children's books. The stories are okay, and they have little lessons for the kids. The art style is good for a children's book. I was a little annoyed that the pictures don't always match up to the text though. The books are okay, but I'm not really a fan of them. I don't like when children's books or shows anthropomorphize animals because it increases the likelihood of children misinterpreting animals' signals and getting hurt. It is a pretty cute collection of stories, though. Just remember if you read books like this with your kids to teach them that this is not a realistic interpretation of animal behavior. My kids really liked the artwork, but they weren't too interested in the stories but that's fine. Not much else to say about this book collection. The artwork is cute and suited to the children's book genre, the stories are sweet and include good life lessons. It would be nice if every book in the collection had its own dedicated artwork instead of recycling the artwork into multiple books. Especially since the books are included in one set like this.

Stolen Lives

I received a free copy of the ebook Stolen Lives to review.

Stolen Lives is a young adult science fiction novel, it's the second book in the Scion series. As I said in my review of book one, I am a fan of science fiction. The first book in this series was incredibly boring with two-dimensional, underdeveloped characters and boring narratives. I was hopeful that book two would improve on the model, however, I was pretty disappointed. The characters are still underdeveloped and two-dimensional. The main character is still a whiny, petulant child. There still appears to be no character development and the story still drags on like in the first book. It wasn't surprising that the book was bad considering the first book was, but I thought maybe there would be some improvement in character depth. I really don't have any hope for the rest of the series. Maybe this author will improve with time, at least.

Scion of Conquered Earth

I recieved a free copy of the ebook Scion of Conquered Earth to review.

Scion of Conquered Earth is a young adult science fiction novel, it's the first book in the Scion series. I usually like science fiction, but this book was just really, really boring. It starts of with the main character, a teen with amnesia, running away from... cannibalistic aerobics instructors. And it only goes downhill from there. The characters are flat and two-dimensional. There's no character development at all, no growth. The main character is whiny and immature, which is a hell of an accomplishment for someone who is supposed to be fending for himself in a post apocolyptic wasteland where everyone and everything wants to kill him. Most people would grow up at least a little in those circumstances, but the main character managaes to remain a petulant child throughout the book. The story drags on slowly and never successfully draws readers in. Hopefully the story picks up in the next book.

I grew up on country music, back when country music included a lot less pop and hip-hop elements. I'm really not fond of the fact that country music and pop are now nearly indistinguishable, though I don't mind the hip-hop elements as much. I'm also not a fan of how misogynistic some modern country music is, so I don't like letting my kids listen to it. So I figured I would give this Lullaby renditions a try, maybe it will make modern country music more kid friendly.

So, in the hour leading up to my kids' bedtime, I played this music for them. I'm honestly not fond of it because it uses chimes and they sound bad to me, but since I'm not exactly the target audience I kept it playing anyway. My kids basically ignored this music, they didn't even seem to be aware that it was playing and it didn't really seem to help them wind down and go to sleep. Actually, Zach slept worse afterward. I doubt it's directly related, because he does have some sleep difficulties, but it was kind of interesting.

The songs on this collection are modern country songs, which are not my cup of tea. I love the idea behind it, but the music of choice isn't for me and my family. If you are a fan of modern country, though, and you have young kids who need some new bedtime music, you should definitely check out this collection.

This fishing lure is a nice alternative to live bait if you enjoy fishing for salmon, tuna, trout, or bass. It can also be used for other fishes, I'm sure.

I'm not big into fishing, myself, but my husband is an avid fisherman so I got this lure for him to try out. The lure comes in a variety of colors, and we got the basic silver. It is a weighted fish lure so no additional weight is needed with it. Its shininess makes it attractive to fish. My husband has only gotten to fish with it once and hasn't yet caught anything with it, but we will provide an update after the next fishing trip.

As I stated previously, this lure is weighted so there isn't any need for an additional fishing weight. This is beneficial when you don't want to take a huge tackle box on your fishing trip.

Shiny lure attracts fish
Fish like things that are eye catching. Whether it's because the thing is moving or reflecting light, fish are more likely to nibble at things that have some eye catching trait. This lure is nice and shiny even in lower light, making it a good lure for all your fishing fun.

This book is a simple guide to selling on Amazon. And I mean really simple. So first off, let's just start at the beginning. On my first listen to this book I was barely aware of what was being said because the narrator's voice was so flat and boring. So after realizing that I had listened to almost the entire book without really absorbing any of the information, I had to start the book over from the start again. Oh, what fun. So, I started it over and had to force myself to pay attention to the narration, which was a really difficult task. Seriously, this was the most boring audiobook I've ever listened to. The information it provided was thorough, which is nice, but it didn't contain anything that couldn't be found easily on Amazon directly. I really have nothing else to say about this, I would not recommend this audiobook.

Glitz Star Rug Corners for all your rug sticking needs

These Glitz Star Rug Corners work okay on some rug types.

These rug corners are to help with all your pesky rug slipping dilemmas. We all know how dangerous a slippery rug can be, so this product is a great idea.

Zach is always shuffling his feet on the floor instead of picking them up to walk, so he slides the rugs around a lot and they usually end up bunched up in a corner somewhere. He really enjoys shuffling his feet because of the sound it makes and he does it inside and out. He also really seems to enjoy kicking the rugs out of the way instead of walking on them, so I decided I would try to get some rug stickies to see if I could keep my rugs in place a little better.

One side is really sticky, the other not so much
Okay, so the side of these with the 3M label is really sticky, so much so that it's hard to get the label off to stick it. The other side, with the clear film, is less sticky. My first time around I put the clear film side on the rug and it didn't stick at all. So I tried again putting the 3M side on the rug and it locked down pretty good.

No information/instructions
Alright, so instructions aren't really necessary with a product like this. It's literally just double sided tape, stick one side then the other. But there is no information at all about this product included in the packaging, which is weird.

Reasonable price
These rug stickies are reasonably priced, which is in my mind the most important factor about something that amounts to a glorified piece of Scotch tape. I will probably buy more in the future for our other rugs.

All in all, these rug stickies are pretty damn good for the price. They aren't reusable though, so if you decide to move your rugs you'll need new ones, but at the price that's not a big deal.

Sage Smudge Spray- For "cleansing" or just air freshening

This Sage Smudge Spray has a nice but strong smell.

For those who don't know "smudging" is the process of burning bundles of sage to ward off evil and "cleanse" your energy. The practice was common with native American tribes back in the day and has had a big resurgence thanks to the new age religions.

I'm not a believer in smudging (or evil spirits for that matter), but I do like the smell of sage, so I figured this would be a good purchase. I plan on using this as an air freshener for my home, as well.

Nice smell
This spray has a nice, but very strong, smell to it. It smells very distinctly sagey.

Repels pests
Sage is known to repel some pests, including ticks and mosquitos. I know my house has a major mosquito problem, but since using the spray on the areas near doors and windows we haven't been having as many mosquito problems.

If you're into smudging and other such things, this stuff is a nice, smoke-free alternative. Or if you, like me, just like the smell of sage you could try it out too.

There are a lot of horrible drivers on the road these days. People cutting each other off, speeding, weaving back and forth, it's a disaster out there! Driving, at least where we live, is a very dangerous proposition lately. That's why we want to put dashcams in our cars. Sure, it won't make other drivers more responsible, but it will give us protection if some idiot tries to lock their brakes in front of us to cause an accident. Plus, sometimes we see cool things while driving and it's not safe to take a picture.

So with that thought in mind, I decided to try this hardwiring kit.

Easy to follow instruction
The instructions with this are pretty straightforward, so it should be really simple to hook this thing up when the time comes. The instructions include a video from the company, which is always a nice addition.

Quality parts
The wires in this kit are not so thin as to be unreliable, which is important. The insulation coating the wires is flexible enough to work with but sturdy enough to keep the wires covered, and it completely covers the wires.

Reasonable price
This isn't the cheapest wiring kit available, but the price is reasonable and the quality is high. I would recommend this wiring kit over the other options on Amazon.

Senior Advanced Hip & Joint Chewables for Dogs

I got these mobility bites for Anubis since he is 15 years old. He does have a tiny bit of trouble with his hips but he is a very active dog and I walk him at least two times a day. Sometimes my husband says thinks that aren't quite correct. Not that he's lying, but he sometimes has outdated information, which is true for many people. And me being me, I tend to correct these small factual errors no matter who says them. It has lead to a running joke in my family that I always think I'm right. Well, that's not true but my family enjoys the joke.

Well, since it's a running joke and I aim to please, I thought this mug would be the perfect gift for my husband's birthday.

A good, quality mug
This mug is of surprisingly good quality. I have dropped it on the floor a few times and it has made it out unscathed every time. I have also run it through the dishawsher multiple times to see how it would withstand multiple washings, and there is no fading of the image at all. All in all, this is a quality mug that stands up well to regular use.

Quality, attractive styling
The mug is a pretty basic white mug, but the image on it is very pretty and well designed. The image quality is also very high, which is always a plus. I'm not a big fan of the font used, but that's simply my personal preference. There are also a variety of other designs on the site to choose from.

Reasonable prices and good customer service
The items on this website aren't the cheapest around, but they are priced reasonably for the quality provided. They also arrive quickly when ordered and are well packaged to enjoy safe arrival.

Pure Freeze Dried Salmon Filet Treats Review

Salmon treats for dog and cats. I got these for Anubis (my dog) and Amy (my cat) because all animals need a treat here and there. Of course, Anubis liked them and did not even hesitate to eat one when I offered it to him. He is not a picky eater and he love's his treats. I was, however, amazed when I gave one to Amy I was thinking there was no way she would eat it. She won't eat anything but store brand dry cat food. At best I figured she might give it a lick or two, but she did eat the salmon treat, and she love's them as much as the dog. It's so amazing and I'm thrilled to have finally found something she likes. Now she can get treats too. The only thing I do not like about them is they smell like fish and I do not like the fish smell, but since Amy likes them I will deal with the smell. Leather RFID Blocking Passport Holder Review

I got this passport holder for my dad. He is going to take a cruise and had to get a passport before he could go. I figured he need something to keep his passport in because he has a bad habit of putting things in his pocket and then they end up getting destroyed. This will protect his passport and the yellow color will make it harder for him to lose it, he is so good  at loosing things that he would loose his head if it where not attached. Probable because he is always moving thing. He just can not put some thing some were and leave it there. He has to keep moving thing around to differant places so he can put some thing else there. I do not really like the shade of yellow it is. They are available in a veriaty of other colors though so if yellow is not your color they do have options.

The passport holder is made well. Its made with cardboard and leather. The seems look to be good, I didn't see any frayed ends anywhere on it. It has pockets for cards, though I'm not sure why but if you need a place to keep credit card or the like you can keep them with your passport.

Prokeg Stainless Steel Beer Growler

I received this Prokeg Stainless Steel Beer Growler to review.

I don't drink beer, so I have no use for a beer growler. I do like stainless steel drinking apparatuses though, and this one is 64 ounces, which is a lot of liquid. I plan on using my new stainless steel beer growler as a tea growler, to keep my tea hot on the go. I like stainless steel because it keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold longer, which is always nice. Stainless steel isn't quite as good as an insulated container, but it is still good. I do have a problem with stainless steel in that the sound of steel scraping against things causes me physical pain. It's weird, I know, but it's true. This "growler" does a pretty good job of keeping drinks hot, but I haven't used it for anything cold yet. It should work just fine for keeping things cold as well, though, because steel has a pretty good insulating effect. It seems to be fine after washing in the dishwasher. I know that steel is dishwasher safe, but I wasn't sure about the gasket on the lid of the growler. I think this product is a pretty good investment if you need a large drink container to keep your drinks hot or cold for longer.

3/4"x12" Leather Honing Strap Belt Review

I got this honing strap to keep in the kitchen. I'm hell on my kitchen knives and they were always getting dull and I would have to sharpen them. I got tired of sharpening them all the time and now I don't have to worry about it. I can keep them good and sharp. I never thought about honing my kitchen knives until I worked at a potato processing plant. While I was working there I happen to see some of the ladies using the side of a steel conveyer to hone the trimming knives. I thought that was brilliant and started doing it myself. And I now try to keep a honing strap around. With this, all I do is keep them honed. If you keep your knives honed they don't need to be sharpened. This is untreated raw leather and that makes it one of the best honing materials you can get and this belt is small enough to hang so it wont be in the way. The one thing about it I don't like is that it is a belt instead of a strap of leather. This makes it hard to use because its hard to keep a hold of. It takes some practice to be able to hold the belt and hone a knife with it but once you have it figured out it's not so bad.

These glasses are meant for beer drinkers as one can guess from the brand name, but I'm not a beer drinker nor is anyone in my family. I actually got these cups for my children to use. You see, my children, especially Zach, sometimes drop cups and if they are using glass cups there is a risk of shattering. Shattered cups on the ground and floor is a terrible thing because it is really difficult to successfully clean up glass shards, there always seem to be at least a few that manage to escape the broom, vacuum, mopping trifecta. So anyway, when I got these cups I opened the box right away and tried to pull the cups apart to find that they were jammed together so tight they wouldn't budge! My husband tried, I tried, my dad tried, and eventually, we pried them apart with a screwdriver which only just worked. Yeah, what a fun exercise that was. I definitely think they need to reconsider their current packing method because it's not fun having to fight your new product just to get it useable. Well, after we finally got them apart I gave them a quick wash, and of course, they are dishwasher safe. So I let Zach use one of these cups and he was okay with it, though he was very interested in the fact that he could see himself in the cup and he also enjoyed licking the outside of it, but then Zach likes licking stuff so that's no surprise. The cups are steel so they hold up just fine to regular use. They're great cups for anyone with kids.

Roller Coaster in Tehran

This book starts out really good. We're introduced to the main character during a tense moment and it's easy to be drawn in and want to keep reading. There's some flowery, "Mary Sue" language used early on, but not too bad. The chapters are really long, though, and can sometimes seem to drag on. About three chapters in things take a sudden and abrupt nose dive and the author just can't recover from the death spiral this book finds itself in. The main character's entire personality suddenly makes a dramatic shift and she becomes a completely different person. She goes from being a nervous, flighty girl to being a sex-crazed fiend. The story has potential to be good, but it misses the mark the further in you read. With a little work, the author could have a great book on his hands, but as it sets the book really isn't worth reading.

Wireless Meat Thermometer

I got this Wireless Meat Thermometer to review.

I do a lot of cooking, and much of what I cook is meat. Even though I don't like meat my family does, so I cook a lot of meat and it's very important to me that it is cooked properly to be safe for my family. I was using an older analog candy thermometer but I wanted to upgrade to a newer digital model. So anyway, I got the new thermometer and the first thing that struck me was how pathetic the instruction manual is. There's really not any information available in it. But luckily the thermometer is easy to figure out without instructions. There is an on-off switch on the bottom of the base unit as well as another on-off switch on the back of the other piece, which also has a Celsius-Fahrenheit switch, though I don't know why as you switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit by holding down the "min" button on the screen. It includes two probes with metal cords that attach to the base unit. The probes and attached cords are heat resistant and can be placed inside a barbecue to provide a constant temperature reading. It wouldn't work when cooking meat in an oven because you would have to leave the door open. The units are plastic and as such, they are not heat resistant and must be kept away from heat sources to avoid damage. It has two modes, meat temp and timer. It has a variety of commonly eaten meats and some less common meats like lamb and veal. It works pretty well so far, and I think it will last for quite a while because it seems to be well made. It does require batteries in both the base unit and top because it is wireless. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a meat thermometer.

Obliviscar Wrist Wraps

I got these Obliviscar Wrist Wraps to review.

I got these for my husband to use at work because he has to do a lot of heavy lifting and pushing/pulling of large loads at work. Right now he's not able to because of an injury, but I thought these would be helpful to him when he returns to work. The wraps are actually meant to be used by weightlifters/bodybuilders to ease the strain on the wrist when lifting but can be used for many other purposes as well. They can be worn when doing bodyweight exercises (ie, pull ups or push ups), when lifting/pushing/pulling for work, and even when doing lighter tasks like cleaning. I actually used them myself while vacuuming the floor just today because I did a "deep clean" which involved moving all of the furniture and picking up one side of the couch. It helped prevent me from twisting my wrist awkwardly as I sometimes do. I actually decided to try wearing them while typing on my computer to see if they would be of any benefit for people who need a wrist brace for writing and typing tasks. These work better than any proper wrist brace I have ever used at providing support to the wrist when performing everyday tasks.
